Rick Foxwell

Creative Director

Rick breathes, eats and drinks design – till his tummy sticks out sometimes. So much so, he rarely showers without scrawling ideas on the fogged-up glass (he showers often BTW). His warm hands have been lovingly scooping ideas from the minds of collaborators and using them to craft elegant solutions for 25+ years now. Two boys under ten keep Rick smiling but sleepless, and his free time is spent satisfying his love of mountain biking (irresponsibly) and craft beer (responsibly). Generally one after the other.

Brooke Borkan

Content Strategy and Copywriting

Brooke loves copywriting and making the complex simple. We’re not talking about boring simple. But the kind of writing that’s human, jargon-free and inspires people to find out more, sign up, add to cart, call now or buy now. She gets facts and tone correct and is a stickler for putting apostrophes in their proper place. A word-crafter from way back, she can tell the right story at any stage of the customer journey across websites, apps, emails, blogs, videos, social and print. With a sprinkling of SEO writing in there for good measure. Brooke is also a content strategist who gets to the heart of what consumers want and need by running audience persona workshops, then developing key messages and content plans to connect with those audiences.

Technical Lead / Development

Che is truly a man with ‘a slow heartbeat’ – big, fat, regular beats. Probably one beat per organ, in order – he’s methodical like that. No drama, no hand flapping – just the way he runs a project. Che builds stuff that works and looks amazing, always in that order. With 15+ years of website and web app experience, he’s a full stack developer with stacks of skills in strategy, frontend precision coding, and app design and development. Crazy about best practice, he doesn’t just keep up with technology, he embraces it – sometimes awkwardly long. So whatever he builds, it’ll keep right on working as hard as he does.

Copywriting and SEO Analysis

Leah’s a proud word nerd, and pretty switched on when it comes to stringing a sentence together. She’s been a professional wordsmith for over a decade, but she’s loved writing since the moment she figured out which way up to hold a pen. Leah’s lent her talents to boutique agencies, big media heavies, and search marketing agencies, and loves the challenge of writing for diverse audiences. On weekends, you’ll find her surfing (badly) or snowboarding (slightly less badly).

Laurie Turnbull

Laurie doesn’t ‘do SEO’ like most of the big media agencies in town. Laurie and each lovingly selected member of his SEO team is a practitioner and is actually doing the work. In fact, he does a good deal of the work himself bringing in experts when required.

He’s been involved in SEO and digital marketing for 10+ years and he’s seen his fair share of changes in the industry, but one thing has always served him well: delivering high-quality work and building collaborative relationships based on honesty and trust.
